Help converting *.hsp file
Hi all
Can anyone help me to convert this *.hsp file to something readable?
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I've tried both dump2all.exe and UniDumpToReg.exe without any luck.
The dump was created using the Hasp4rdr.exe from that commercial site.
Thx
purl

Hi linkingpark
Thanks for your reply. It's a HASP4 M1 dongle and I don't have the passwords or the software that goes with it.
I bought the dongle off Ebay, because I wanted to experiment with Bajunny's password unlocker (see my previous post).
So far I've used every kind of HASP4 dumper but the hsp4rdr is the only one that produces an output.
I was hoping some here knew how to convert the .hsp file into something readable so that I could find out the passwords, etc.

IF use WIN 9X
1.using Toro to get your passwords
2.H5dmp to dump
3.UniDump2Reg to convert
4. Multikey to emulate

Please explain Step 1.
I'm running Win98, I've installed Toro, but I don't see how I can find the passwords...

What are you talking about?
That program requires the passwords, which I don't have...
Please don't post anything you haven't tried yourself and know works.
Thank you

Re: Help converting *.hsp file
If you have a HASP4 M1 and know your passwords, please dump the dongle using the hasp4rdr.exe located here (http://dongleduplicate.nsys.by/) and send me the .hsp file.
This will help me find the passwords of my dongle.
Or, you can dump your dongle and just let me know where the passwords are located in the file using a hex editor.

Re: Help converting *.hsp file
In order to find out what is actually stored in the EEPROM, I opened up one of the three dongles I have and de-soldered the EEPROM using a professional soldering station (Weller WD 2M) with a very fine attachment (WMRP). Together with a hands-free magnifying glass I managed to remove the EEPROM without damaging anything.
I then attached some very fine wires to the pins and soldered them to a 25-pin parallel port connecter to work with a program I found called 93C64.exe and read out the information in the EEPROM. It worked the first time without any problems.
Having read out the information and compared it to the .hsp file, I can confirm that the data in the EEPROM is exactly the same as the info in the file. So the hsp4rdr doesn't encrypted the EEPROM info at all.
Now according to Bajunny's tutorial, the passwords lie a positions 0 and 1, but unfortunately I couldn't get the info I found there to work on any of the three dongle I have. I even payed special attention to the byte swapping at position 0.
I'm beginning to think that the HASP ASIC encrypts the info before writing it to the EEPROM and thereby preventing someone like me from doing what I just explained to get at the passwords.
I really need someone to dump their dongle with the hasp4rdr and with known passwords perhaps I'll have a starting point to figuring out whether it is as I assume.
Any takers?
