multiKey 20 in windows 8.1 Empty multiKey 20 in windows 8.1

Post by betonesto71 Thu Oct 31, 2013 1:04 pm

I installed windows 8.1 pro. and I tried installing MultiKey 19.0 it did not work.
I then found ver 20.0 it installs fine in windows 8.1 with Disabling  the Driver Signature Enforcement .
I ran the *.reg file  for the dongle emulator.
I also downloaded and installed the latest sentinel system driver.
am I missing something I had it working on Windows 8.0.
 Any Help is greatly appreciated...

multiKey 20 in windows 8.1 Empty Re: multiKey 20 in windows 8.1

Post by betonesto71 Thu Oct 31, 2013 2:06 pm

I got it working here here are the details.

Multikey 19.0 In windows 8.1
1. Download and install the latest hasp or sentinel drivers, Install your *.reg file (reboot)
2. When windows starts move mouse to the right until ribbon appears,
click on Settings (Gear Icon) ,
   Change PC Settings,
   Update & Recovery,
   Recovery,
Advanced Start Up then Restart Now.
   Select Troubleshoot,
   Advanced Options,
   Startup settings,
   Restart..
When prompted what option press  F7.
The system will restart with driver enforcement dissabled
3. Enter Device Manager ( right click on windows logo on lower left side)
4. Select System Devices.
go to the Action (menu) Click on Add Legacy Hardware.
5. When the Add Hardware window appears click Next.
Then select=  Install the Hardware that I manually Select From A List (Advanced)
Then Select=  System Devices  ... click Next
   Then click=   Have disk
Then Browse for the directory where your multiKey drivers are stored.. Click Ok, then Next.Next
Finish
If It asks for a reboot make sure you do it as specified on step 2.
If it does'nt work manualy delete the drivers in device manager use step 4. then install again
It worked for fine for me..
If someone finds a way to permanently keep drver enfocement Off In Win 8.1 Please Post..

FOUND ONE

Step 1.  Open the Windows command promt as “Run as Administrator”.
Step 2.  Run “bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS” (without the “”).
Step 3.  To finalize the process run “bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON” (without the “”).
Step 4.  Reboot and you’re done.
To disable it do step 1 and run these commands on step 2 and 3:
Step 2. “bcdedit -set loadoptions ENABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS” (without the “”)
Step 3. “bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF” (without the “”)
Then do step 4 and you’re done.
There is an issue with this method it leaves a watermark saying you are in test mode until you disable it again. Only do this when you need to install a large number of unsigned drivers. And i prefer disabling it when you’ve installed all drivers you needed.

You can get a licence from the website for 32 bit OS, hovever you have to buy a licence for 64 bit OS as the the program needs to be digitally signed.

Hope this clears it up.

Great, and I should buy a licence for each reg file? Is it possible to use the v.19 and higher with out licensing (eg. Diable Digital Signature...)

Hy there is a permanent way to solve this
 hit Win+R (run)
type 'gpedit.msc'
then go to
User Configuration/Administraive Templates/System/Driver Installation
double click on Code signing for device drivers select Enabled and select Ignore or warn from the dropdown list an press ok

Very Happy Surprised

How about Windows 10? Has anyone tried the Multikeys on Win 10 (64 and 32 bit)? I've been working on it for a while with no success yet Sad
